NEW FOOD MENU
FROM 1ST APRIL
A new version of Romeo and Juliet starring Tom Holland and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers has just dropped in London’s West End.
So when we heard it was coming to The Duke of York’s Theatre, a mere vapour’s whiff from our St. Martin’s Lane apothecary, we just had to pipe up.
Look, not to throw shade at Friar Laurence here. But seriously?!
That’s the potion you went with?!
The one that makes Juliet appear dead for two days?!
As The Alchemist, we feel compelled to say- things didn’t have to go that way.
Behold: the Pipe Dream.
A beguiling brew of Brugal 1888, Discarded Cascara, Laphroaig 10yr, Licor 43, Giffard Chocolate Cookie and Opulence.
This elixir, only one of the 50+ currently on our shelves, makes even the most foolhardy of visions (like, I don’t know, wanting to marry the youngest daughter of a rival family) become a reality for 42 to 48 hours.
This would have given the star-crossed lovers ample time to be legally wedded.
So look, we’re sorry for throwing shade at Friar Laurence.
Luckily, we have something for that too, in our “No to Low” cabinet- the Shade Switcher.
With a reinvigorating mixture of apple, citrus, lemonade, Colour Changing Magic, and a Disco Lollipop; it should reverse the effects pretty presto. Somebody please get the good Friar one.
Ultimately, with a motto like “Theatre, served” we feel like we’re also an ideal dining destination for some food before the show or a couple of pre-theatre drinks.
There’s such a great variety on our food and drinks menus, even Montagues and Capulets would agree to have dinner under the same roof.
So if you guys are visiting London to go and see Romeo and Juliet this summer- do drop into our Covent Garden chambers for a cocktail or two. You’re in seriously good hands.
We promise not to leave you for dead.
The Alchemist. Theatre, served.
